Right Side Mirror Sticks When Cold

Starting to have issues when I remote start the truck on cold mornings. I'll turn it on and then unlock it while I'm still in the house. When I get in my truck the right side view mirror remained closed while the left opened as usual. I'll close them again and hit open and the right side opens fine. No more issues after or when it's warm. Zero hesitation to open when I hit the open button from inside the truck on cold mornings. Never has happened with left side. Of course this about to be a nonissue for 9 more months here in MS so not a pressing issue. More of an annoyance on a 2yr old truck.

Have you tried wrapping it in a blanket over night to keep it nice and warm?

It may have less to do with weather and more with a bad motor in the mirror. I have one on my 1500 and Tahoe both starting to close slowly and a little jumpy. Gonna run them in for warranty. Service Advisor did not know if the motor could be replaced or if the whole mirror had to be replaced.

My truck will randomly Nemo itself from time to time. Hasn’t done it in awhile. But it’s happened.

Doesnt even get to freezing. Just sub 40 and its not every time.
Same experience for me from time to time. But, it was def below freezing when it did and happened on both sides (not necessarily at the same time).

My right side mirror not working in freezing or wet weather
I thought at first it was frozen a few months ago.
Now it rained and it wouldn't open.
Took a leaf blower to it and it opened up.

I've got one on my 1500 and one on the Tahoe that are slow to open. Then they seemed to get better, but i still see them hesitate once in a while. I think the retracting motors are junk.

I understand the frozen time but this time it was just wet. It wouldn't even budge when I tried to move it.
Once I cleared the water away it opened up like normal.
Don't need to worry about either of that in Havasu but both times were in Williams and the truck sits outside.
Who builds a garage where a truck won't fit in lol

All garages should be bigger than the house, the house is a detail....... none of my shit fits except motorcycles and sxs.

Built my house with a 28' deep garage for 2 vehicles and 22' for the third :D
When we built I had a Regular Cab Silverado Z71 and the wife had a Civic Si Coupe. I knew we would have larger vehicles one day so we built a 24’ X 24’ two car garage and a basement/one car garage for the RZR. I already wish we had built a fourth garage for the mower, kids ride-on toys, and eventually vehicles!

Sorry we high jacked your thread with garage talk. My 2017 Silverado LTZ had this issue once. I just reset the mirrors using the interior button and it never happened again. I also disabled the remote mirror folding feature in the settings menu. Going forward I simply used the interior button when parking in a tight spot.
