Side View Cameras

Is there any way to activate the side view cameras (The ones that show up when you are trailering and put on your turn signal) when you are not trailering? I recently had cervical spine surgery and would really benefit from being able to use these camera views at will, particularly when turning onto roads where I cannot turn all the way to check oncoming traffic..

Not sure if a company like Boost Auto has a gizmo for that or not. They do a lot of custom harnesses to override stock functionality and make things more useful.

There are some 3d printed options out there with some connections in them you put in your 7way connector but I can't recall their names off hand. Seen them scroling tiktok and facebook.

It is something like a trailer light tester u plug into your 4 way, if I remember right. It tricks the truck and thinks you are towing.

Would be nice if it was just a normal function. When my old 1500 was in the shop, I drove a Hyundai rental for a few days. It had that function and I thought it was pretty nice. Do I NEED it? Nope but that doesnt change the fact it was pretty cool and useful.

Perhaps you shouldn't be driving until you have increased range of motion???

Some have found this PLUG works for them. There was one that allowed the plug cover to remain closed, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

This could be another option? again I can't confirm. Plug it in and turn on cameras in trailer settings. This would likely disable rear parking sensors because it thinks a trailer is behind it.
