Tailgate speakers

Has anyone installed the tailgate audio system on the ZR2? I am considering it, but all the sites say it doesn’t work with my truck, although it’s the same model number that supposedly works for other Silverados. Can’t think of anything that would be specific to the ZR2 where it wouldn’t work.

Sounds like they are independent of your trucks stereo and don't sound all that good.
