What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

Just installed the PPE deep trans pan, F me! Is everything on this truck hard to work on?! After 45k miles those nuts on the cat pipes are a bitch to take off. It adds 2.5 more quarts to the trans which along with the cooling fins should help a bit with temp.
Me likes this. Does it fit the AEV skids? Im too lazy to Google it 😪

I'll photo it in place tomo morning and post for you. I'll look up the AEV skid and see if I can tell. It fits the OEM gasket and they supply the bolts. You have to drop the cats to get one out and the other in. Drain it the best you can from the filler plug before you attempt. We also pulled the trans support cross member to help give room for the cats and pipe to come out.

Here's the photos, did them tonight. The bottom edge of the deep portion of the pan sits just above the bottom edge of the cat crossover pipe. The lowest part of the cat pipe is below the level of the pan, if that helps. I couldn't tell where the AEV skid covers so hopefully this helps. Also, if you do order, American Trucks has it cheaper than PPE site. Good luck

If it was easy anybody could do it. Kudos to those who can actually turn a wrench.

Turning a wrench isn't that hard. Its all just nuts and bolts. It went together somehow, so it must come apart somehow. Just takes a little bit of common sense. Take pictures before and during the tear down process if you need to.

How tricky was the pan installation? Did you do it yourself?

What is this common sense you speak of? It’s actually not that common.😂

Yes did myself with my kid at his shop. It’s not tricky but messy. You have to drop the cats crossover to get it out. Nuts on flanges suck if stuck. Change filter since you’re already there and change fluid only next time with drain plug. IMHO
No way around not getting fluid spill, drain as much as you can from fill hole first. Will spill again when filling and going through gears to add more. If you’ve never worked on tranny fluid change make sure you research. Good luck! You can PM me if you need more detailed info, sure everyone doesn’t need to hear it 😂
