šŸ”§How-To: Install Amber Grille Lights for ZR2(Easy installation)

No problem!You are always welcome.
But I’m not sure when exactly we’ll launch it. Originally we planned to release white grille lights for RAM, but feedback shows more truck owners prefer amber—so we’re switching back to amber now. Yep, sometimes plans don’t work out as expected!
I get it. LMK if and when you produce them. Ill get a set

I finally got around to installing my grill marker lights. I bought them from @CZmenghe who are a site sponser and are GREAT to work with! These are idiot proof plug and play and are an absolute breeze to install. I direct messaged John at CZmenghe with a question about using 3 lights instead of the supplied 4. He checked with his engineering team and had an answer for me really quickly! I can't say enough good things about their customer service or the lights!

Perhaps you'd like to see a photo of the installed fixture in a real setting. How do you feel about the fit?

Thinking of getting these amber lights from their Amazon page. Anyone having any issues with them ? How’s the fit? I notice they go inside the grille by pushing them in. Any issues on long drives with them falling out ?

I've not had mine in long enough for long term experience but so far I've had no problems at all. Fit and finish is really good! The lights are still in the same position as I installed them with no sign of them falling out. One side benefit of this light set is if you decide to remove them for any reason they just pop out and the wiring harness is easily removed as well. There will be no damage to your truck at all.

Did you guys find a way to get your amber front grille lights connected for folks using those connections wit the venom drl?
It is possible by splicing wiring, but there is no plug-and-play adapter yet. We have our R&D team working on a solution right now.

Regarding the fitment, they feature clips designed to snap tightly into the grille. They will stay in place even on long drives.

I have no issues splicing wire. Do you have any instructions and tips on where to splice ? Instructions ?

I ordered a set of these through Amazon and I got them installed tonight. I have a few observations that I'd like to pass on.
Pros:
  • Generally pleased with the fit and finish of the lights. They seem to be well made and the assembly of them is nicely done. Better than I expected for the price.
  • Installation is straightforward and well documented thanks to the YouTube instructions.
  • Look fantastic! I really like them.
Cons:
  • The connector interface between the factory headlight plug harness and the light harness was impossibly difficult to connect. Finally resorted to using a pair of Channel Locks to get the connection to click into place. They certainly won't come apart. Plugging the other end into the headlight socket was no problem whatsoever.
  • This is the biggest issue for me; the R2 light is very loose in grill. I suspect that one of the locking tabs broke off while pushing into place but I can't verify and I won't try to remove it for fear of breaking another off. The other three lights are very solidly in place.
While I am hoping to get a replacement light, in general I'd buy them again.

Ordered the lights through Amazon. One day turn around time for arrival. Not sure if that’s the prime member perks.

Any how, it took me about an hour to install. Only because i Was learning I went along.

The lights themselves feel very well made. Good quality. Time will tell what the Arizona heat does to them.

They were easy to install. Basically all plug and play. A little common sense. Main thing I like is that everything fits right and tight. The lights are snugged and clipped on easily without any alterations to the grille. Same for all connections.

I’d really like to figure out a way to get these to work with the venum rdl switchbacks as they use the same connection for them to work. As of now, it’s either these lights or the switchbacks.

If anyone figures out a way to make it work let me know!

Installed mine yesterday. I am pleased, generally easy to install and they work. I broke the red slider on the original headlight connector in the process but that is on me. Only negative I can say is the stick on wire routers do not stick very well. I love the look, I put them in the first row in line with the camera, I like that better than the row below them. Thanks!

Glad to hear you love the look! The placement on the first row sounds great. Could you please share a photo of your installation? We are curious to see how it looks!

Any updates on if you may be able to produce a light more like this, where it still lights up amber?
