Out with 6.2 in with 3.0

My Multimatics were shot. It was just another reason to make a change. At trade in the original brake pads at 65% and only had to change factory installed Goodyears at 112k....yes, they were still good and not slicks at that mileage. I will say one thing about these trucks, and most people that...

Out with 6.2 in with 3.0

I drive a ton for work and need to have a truck, so ZR2 Is great for ride, snowy weather, and hunting. I had the 6.2, but the upcharge and lower range made 3.0 a no-brainer. I’m really impressed so far. While not as much HP, my neighbor appreciates the 6.2 with GM Performance exhaust being...

Out with 6.2 in with 3.0

Time for a little change. Traded my ‘23 Glacier 6.2L ZR2 with 153k for a new ‘26 3.0L in Cypress. I loved the sound and go of the 6.2L, but I drive a ton and the range is a game changer. Now for the accessories.

    High Mileage ZR2s.

I have 151k on my '23 with no issues on my 6.2L, so I'll probably be close to your 170k mark by year end. I'm religious with oil changes, tire rotations and maintenance. I did have a tensioner and alternator go out about 15k ago, but otherwise sound. I will say, if you plan on keeping these a...

    Hello from Wisconsin!

I just turned 50k miles on my '23 6.2L 1500(drive 50-70k annually). This thing is all 95% of people really need. Unless you're hauling very heavy loads of logs then the 1500 covers most bases and it's going to be a darling on the highway. The DSSV's are the best riding truck I have ever had and...

    ZR2 Appreciation Thread

I've had more trucks than I can count over the years and this is my favorite so far. It's not just the new/tech either. I get more compliments on the Glacier Blue than any other truck I've had. I also love the suspension and ride on this....on the highway or fields it just soaks up terrain. Last...

What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

Got these off Ebay for a '14-'20 Tahoe. Most GM wheels on trucks have had the same size center caps for years: 3 1/4". Seller was summit auto parts and were like $25.00

    Shock skids installed

Pretty common, especially on my wife’s Bronco(check out the forums), to take a beating on the shock/ mounts so this give you extra shielding. Really inexpensive protection for life’s “doh” moment. I’ve spend more on changes in badges than this, so well worth it.

    Shock skids installed

This morning I was able to finally get at the 589 shock skids I’ve had for over a week. Process was pretty simple, but couple items will save you some time, so hope this helps. Reached out to 589 and they didn’t have install instructions or photos, so here goes: 1. You’ll need a 1/2 inch socket...
