100% agree here. If it blows and the lack of propulsion causes an accident...there's just more that GM is gonna have to shell out for. lolGonna drive mine. I sure as hell didn’t pay for it to sit in my driveway. If the engine blows then I guess I’ll get a new one I may not have to worry about lol
I say drive it faster on the freeway so you have more time to cut people off and get over. Also when the rods come through the block and oil hits the headers you'll get a better smokescreen so MFers behind you know to clear a path. You'll look like Batman too, kids will wet their pants with all the excitement! My dealership service rep advised me Not to drive my truck over the fear of the engine shutting down on a freeway etc. They have no idea when they will be able to take in our trucks for inspection. I'm just lucky as a I don't drive my truck for work daily. But I'm not gonna bunker down and Not drive my truck either.
Definitely good to do that first oil charge between 1000-1500 miles, it gets pretty dirty during break in.I spoke to my dealer in Panama, and they told me not to worry because my truck was built in January 2025!, and since it is not included in the safety recall, I am perfectly OK. I wish I could describe my feelings with words. The truck is almost 1000 miles, and I think we might be on time to change the oil to 0W-40, but they're not even doing that, because it is a 2025.
here is some recent info on the recall. What a MESS ! infohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzqIWWh4IvASo, we need more info. Can someone who is an insider find and post the TSB for this recall? I want to know what they are actually doing. I'm afraid that due to the volume of vehicles affected, they are going to just change my oil and filter and pretend it's all good...
Guess that depends, which recall did you receive? For instance, the recall notice I have ends in 0000. I believe, everyone has mentioned the one they got, all ended in 0000.Found on FB. Interesting if true. Looks like a lot of us will be getting new engines.

I read it that way too, 24183, which is 6/1/2024, but at the top of the document, it says it only applies to certain VIN's as there are 3 separate recall numbers. Have to wait and see if ours get updated. There's something else they aren't telling us. Maybe its limited to a certain run of engines from a certain manufacturing facility but who knows.Am I reading that right that? Every motor built before 24183 (may be the wrong number as I’m not looking at the form) has to have the engine replaced?![]()
No, but they are throwing in a free fuel pump control module!Does the engine replacement include the transmission?
