Bourbon Talk

Last night was Whistle Pig 12. Pretty tasty. Who knows what tonight will bring!

My stash has already spoken, McTavish tonight! And surprisingly good for a celeb collaboration.

And my wife likes it as well, welp I’ll need a second bottle because I just lost this one to her 🤣

Dipping into the back of my stash. This bottle is from batch 1! Would love to find another bottle from the this initial release, but I’ve been sipping from this for years. If you happen to come across this stuff, it’s a Texas 4 grain to glass operation. Worth checking them out.

Tonight's pour........Bulliet Rye.....Manhattan style!. I'm on my third, usually just a couple. But since we got another war going on, I figured WTF.

Our pour was back to basics with Bardstown Origin Series. 94 proof so a little on the light side but full of flavor and only $45. Will definitely be exploring this series further.

Tonight's pour was a couple Miller Lite's and a couple shots of Crown Royal. Nothing special on the tongue, but what made it special was working with my 80 year old Dad all day at the farm until 630. Then having a shrimp basket and then tossing back a couple drinks. All at the longest standing bar in my little hometown (pop 1000) called the Northside Tavern. Had to shut her down, cause I still have to be productive tomorrow!

Little known fact! When I was about 13 or 14 years old, Willly, the owner of the Northside Tavern hired me and my brother to strip, sand, and paint the cooler in the bar that is still in use today. When we finished after several days, Willy brought us into the bar and served us a Coke bellied right up. I sat in the same spot tonight, but the bar had been replaced due to some fire damage from a cigarette thrown in the trash.

Man I love that Axe. Those are some good times! Glad you don’t take them for granted. They are gone all too quickly.

Our pour last night was Stellum Hunters Moon cask strength. Absolutely delicious!
