Taking the rest of the week off, starting the stay-cation with some good ‘ol 127 proof JD.
Sounds like the beginning of a great weekend! Got a Question... Looking to try a Rye Whiskey. IDK why I never have... I just always go to single malt Scotch and Bourbon. Anyone have a Good Recommendation???

There are some really tasty ones that won’t break the bank.

Reservoir Rye (my personal favorite)
Redemption Rye
Jack Daniel’s Rye
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye
Redwood Empire Rye
Rittenhouse Rye
High West Rye

Just a few to get you started. All very delicious. Of course it’s all subjective. Have fun trying!

Also Templeton and Bulliet make some good rye!

Well its been as hot as 116 here this week. Cooling down today. Out on the patio watch a nice monsoon rain come down. We needed it bad. Enjoying a little Buffalo Trace and the smell of the rain.

Ooooooo ok I can have some fun with rye choices. First things first, rye can be more expensive to make so its boom or bust some times when youre spending within a budget. I’ll skip all of the other recommendations so far, because they would be on my list as well.

Dollar for dollar, Sazerac Rye is my go to. Affordable, available, and absolutely solid.

Next is Willet 4 year rye, also known as “Willet green top”. A little more bite and a fuller flavor profile for me, so it’s a great weekend or winter pour. I always have 2-3 bottles of it on hand. It can be a little harder to find, but becoming more available again these days.

Whistle Pig is where I would look if you dont mind spending a little more. Their 10 year rye is a banger, but the farmstock is where it’s at! It wont truly break the bank, but one of those that you’ll spend over $100 for.

Finally, i’ll recommend one that doesnt show up on many if any top 10 lists. I stumbled on to it as a blind purchase and I was pleasantly surprised. Braddock Oak Single Barrel Rye is one of those under the radar sub $50 rye whiskeys that is totally different. If you blind pour it along side all the others you will either head tilt and say “ok now thats weird” or you will be shocked at how good a different approach can produce a great rye. And if you’re one of those that don’t like it, it makes an awesome old fashioned and the old school look label is great for a bar display lol.

If you ever need more just holler. I’m sure between me and @NullNomad we will keep you busy.
This is an absolute fact, I didnt even get into my deep tracks when it comes to rye lol
