Diode Dynamics Ditch Lights Install

I took the plunge today and installed a set of Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport Combo lights. They are mounted on Putco brackets and I utilized the GM/Baja Designs wiring harness that includes a wireless remote. I was able to install these without any drilling or permanent modifications to the truck. Part list:

-Diode Dynamics SS3 combo yellow pod lights
- Putco pod light mounting brackets
- GM/Baja Designs remote capable wiring harness
- Larsen Lights Deutsch to Weatherpak conversion kit (x2)

It is a tag for an automatic gate.

Hey, can you confirm the Putco bracket model. is it the part #2220? does it affect in any way the windshield wipers, or hit the hood when you open the hood? tnx.

Yes, 2220 looks like the correct part number.

I did not have any contact with the bracket and wiper blade or hood. I did have to secure the wiring from the lights to the bracket.

Those ends are little razors. In the scuba repair world we cut them even with a razor blade. When I used to be a mechanic I would get bloody arms from them, LOL.

With the placement of these brackets, it positions the lights over the hood. It does light the hood up, but I wouldn’t call it glare.

I prefer to keep them long to compensate.

Of course I cut them off.

I'm a diver, and I use fingernail clippers. Smoooth, better than razor blades.

The above shows a decent picture. The harness doesn’t require a cable run to the cab. There is a remote relay mounted under the hood to activate the lights. I am able to turn on and off by remote control provided with the kit.

They mount between the hood and the hinge bracket.
