KnappCurious if anyone knows of a dealer that sells the GM factory extended warranty with a minimal markup. I've purchased OEM extended warranties through Jeep and Toyota in the past prior to hitting the 3 year 36K mark way cheaper than what the selling dealer offered.
i opted for GM oem platinum plan. dont trust any other. you can design your own terms. my warranty is for 8 years 100k miles, zero deductable and loaner. i negotiated 2800 down from 3600 asking price. no brainer for me. i average 7k driving miles a year.Curious if anyone knows of a dealer that sells the GM factory extended warranty with a minimal markup. I 100% agree. No third-party warranty crap for me either. Did you buy it from Knapp?i opted for GM oem platinum plan. dont trust any other. you can design your own terms. my warranty is for 8 years 100k miles, zero deductable and loaner. i negotiated 2800 down from 3600 asking price. no brainer for me. i average 7k driving miles a year.
nope...thru GM. it was kinda a hard press on my part as dealer was pushing other branded plans using specific wording lke, " GM authorised" and " backed by GM." when i balked, the salesman pulled out the GM plan. he said the company hates selling this plan over others because of the new computerised platforms and less profit for dealer.I 100% agree. No third-party warranty crap for me either. Did you buy it from Knapp?
how much did you pay so i can compare??Mine is similar to @ZR2NYC with a 10 year 100,00. Definitely prefer the GM over 3rd party also.
i was told i had up to 3years or 36k miles to purchase my plan. $2800 price was good for 3months then would go up according to mileage. Are these plans cheaper the earlier you buy them?
I have never purchased the extended warranty in the past. Considering it now, but curious if I would have the same price at the end of my standard warranty.i was told i had up to 3years or 36k miles to purchase my plan. $2800 price was good for 3months then would go up according to mileage.
i stalked forum before i made final decision. way too much tech to not purchase ext warranty. price was fair imo.I have never purchased the extended warranty in the past. Considering it now, but curious if I would have the same price at the end of my standard warranty.
good luck...anyone i know who had a secondary market flim-flam warranty was had issues. This has been great input. Definitely want to stay OEM and not a third party plan that the dealer sells. I did that once not realizing it and had to pay for the repair upfront and then wait for the reimbursement.
So, is this warranty through Knapp THE GM extended warranty? Or is Knapp a third-party warranty company?I opted for a 96/100K plan from Knapp. They are very easy to deal with. My local dealership was able to see my coverage since it’s a GM warranty. Knapp also offers additional coverage for lifted trucks on the genuine GM plan.
