I lost track of all the previous threads, so a new one on my latest infotainment system update.

I had my rig in for some trim repair. I asked them to do the latest infotainment update and they did. It didnt list the actual update number on the work order, but I believe it may be N242435631-04 from last fall. I've included photos of all three update packages and relative dates they were performed on my rig. .

My system wasn't terribly bad compared to what others have posted. My main issues were occasional signal drops on Sirius, lock up on Sirius and Android, and GPS losing track of vehicle. It was all intermittent and random. I also thought the bass on the Bose system was soft compared to my other rigs.

It's too early to say, but it seems to be a good update and surprisingly the bass is now on par with HD and Tahoe. Not gonna rattle the windows, but better for the average user experience.

I'll give it some time, but might do the Tahoe and HD if it holds up. Both work fairly well, the HD has had a few cut outs on Sirius but very infrequent!

Is this the update to Android 12? Or is is newer?

Thanks, I’ll have to look into how to do that. I’ve had my truck a month and still haven’t gotten through all the features.
It's just a few buttons on the infotainment. It'll give you a few options, one is for new updates.

When i took my 22 ZR2 in for the Serial Data Gateway Module Recall they did not update my software to Android 12. Mine is still running Android 10. Did you get a different update than what they did on my truck?

I have a 22 also and they updated mine to Android 12. My dealership told me sometimes that updates don't take and they have to redo them. If you're not running Android 12 I would take it back in

Guess I'm making another appointment at the dealer.

Mine latest was Android 12, but the others are still Android 10 and would not do an OTA update. Message said everything was up to date.

Mine is still Android 10. Is it worth it to make a special appointment to have it updated to Android 12, or just wait til the next time I have to take it in?

That's what I get too on my other rigs. The system seems to work fine, so I'm not in a hurry. I had mine in for some trim pieces getting replaced, so I just asked them to do it. Haven't driven it much, so can't say if it's worth another trip to dealer.

I have OnStar and to my knowledge I've never had an OTA update. I've tried to check for new updates and it always says they are up to date.

I had that issue with my wife's Tahoe where the battery was very weak one morning and set off a bunch of codes at start up. After charging it twice, it never did it again. I suspected there might have been a failed OTA update, but no way to confirm.

It seems like a very useless feature. Maybe for some real simple updates it could work. But who would know if you can't even force an update unless your at the dealer.

Just like Axe said, but yes, you have to have a data plan thru Onstar to get the OTA updates. Even though I have never got an OTA update, from what I understand, that's how it works. Need data plan.

That’s some shit there. No updates if you don’t pay them for a data plan. I mean the truck can connect to your home WiFi if it just needed a connection.

Also, I think I'll just wait til the next time I have my truck at the dealer to get the Android 12 update. Don't have any problems with the infotainment system right now so no hurry to fix what isn't broke.
