Instrument Cluster

I own 3 of these shitboxes and they are wonderful little turds! You just have to spend substantial time and money to do the work that these dickheads at GM forgot about if you want to keep them on the road.

As luck would have it, I own a fourth shitbox now. This one made by Kawasaki. It's a $40+k high performance sxs with a stop ride notice cause the clutches are coming uncunted. I just spent $5k on an aftermarket clutch system so I can finish out the spring season having fun. Yeah, even the fucking Japs wanted to get in on the Detroit shitshow.

If you want to buy a shitbox, they are on every corner and likely in your driveway. You'll understand this better as the days go by.
Wow, I was not expecting this post about the Teryx! Very disappointing! Do we need the old timer engineers to come out of retirement and consult on how to design and build? Maybe if they stop trying to trim here and there to save a few bucks.

It's been another interesting saga. I bought mine the first week they went on sale. 6 weeks later the primary clutches started cracking and literally exploding. They have really basic "old looking design" cast aluminum CVT clutch and it appeared to be manufactured poorly with cracks and breakage occurring frequently. Can't handle a 250HP supercharged motor spooled up to 9000 rpms.

Even though it looked like a basic design, I actually had pretty solid performance from mine for 600 miles and it laid down the power well. Now I got an indication of cracking and some casting breaking off. I parked mine a about 4 weeks ago and have been waiting on a new clutch.

Others had issues in the first few hours. Two guys have had their sxs replaced twice (yes 2X). One guy's clutch exploded so bad the shrapnel went through the rear fender well and into the rear seat compartment. It's so bad in some cases, it destroys the frame and crank coming off the motor. That was what led to the stop ride order. I guess they didn't want to kill anyone.

GM is still rolling the dice and so am I, unfortunately!

Over the past year and a few months with two different trucks with the same cluster and same controls on the steering wheel; I have never accidentally changed the IP view.
Not referring to "accidentally changing anything." It changes on its own!

Sometimes when I’m going down the interstate at 80 mph the adaptive cruise will sense something and knock you down to 50. That’s a fun time. And my wife is shitting bricks.

Yep, I like the adaptive cruise in general. But it a huge PIA with any traffic and occasionally will shut off due to road signs, bridges, shadows, etc. If your not anticipating it, it can surprise you.

What’s funny is it’ll usually happen when we come to a dip in the road and there’s nothing else around. It’s weird. It’s kind of fun scaring the bejesus out of the wife when it happens.

I use old school cruise myself. Don’t like the automated stuff. Much like the headlights for high beam. I’ll take care of it so it doesn’t care itself when a sign and turn off.
