Leveling kit

Looking at possibly doing the leveling kit for the ZR2.
Was told by a fella that works at an offroad shop it is quite expensive and involved.
Is it? Or are we looking at a quick Saturday at home gig?

I have located this kit: Rough Country 1301 Leveling Kit $70 and (2) others.
Huge difference in prices.
If Cheap kit does the job, why go other options???


Also looking (still) into a rear bed rack...
T-Slot and Retrax compatible...

The difference in price is solely due to the upper control arms on the other options you provided. It is HIGHLY recommended when installing any level or lift to the 2021-2026 models that you also replace the upper controls arms as they are known to fail after aftermarket install. Don't cheap out when it comes to that.

I would look at @The_Q s previous posts on this subject. I think his posts are some of the best written and most comprehensive. There are also some other good comments in those threads..... many options. Check out Peak and Dirt King UCAs.

Do it right, do it once. Don't cheap out on an already very capable platform. I've had two 1500 ZR2s. The first was a 22 and the current is a 24 with the 3.0 Duramax. Depending on how far you want to go with leveling or lifting is what makes the biggest difference in complexity of the install. For a simple level, Peak makes an inexpensive bolt in disk level. The front struts get dropped to install the disk. While the struts are out the upper control arms can be easily changed out. Whether you go Dirt King, Peak or Cognito, make sure you get the ones with silent spin bushings. Both Peak and Dirt King offer their upper control arms with replaceable ball joints. I've been through the suspension more times than I can count. I started the 22 with just the level and control arms. Later I progressed to the 2.5 collar lift. The 24 I went straight to the 2.5 collar lift, but later changed out for the Peak 2.5 DSC Coilover kit.
