Octane boost- yes or no. Don't forget the "why"

Headed to Colorado in three weeks. In the mountains, 91 octane gas is hard to find. Should I take octane boost with me???

Like ZR2BIZON said, 91 octane is everywhere in Colorado. Our minimum grade here is 85 octane, compared to 87 that you may be used to. You won't be running that anyway.

I don't remember seeing it at the pumps in the years I've been going up there. I probably wasn't looking anyway.

Octane boost is fine to add. I've run plenty of 87 in my 6.2L motors and they run fine. However, I've never done that over 7000' msl.

Octane booster is what it is. An octane booster. It’s for an oh shit moment I can’t find/didn’t fill my vehicle with the correct octane.
