Sunroofs

Hey everyone! I bought my ZR2 without the sunroof due to the deal being too good to pass up, but I have always been a fan of sunroofs and my last Sierra had one that I used daily. I am looking at getting an aftermarket one installed here in NC from a very good shop. I was curious if anyone else had an aftermarket one put in or not, if so could you send pictures? Price they quoted me is $1,895 out the door.

Any solid reasons not to put one in. I have some coworkers / other people that have had this one specific shop put them in and had no issues on their vehicles

Because they haven't owned them long enough. Sunroofs...all of them...are a pain in the dick. I searched high and low for a ZR2 without one and bought it when i found it.

Personally I wouldn't add a aftermarket one. I worked at a shop years ago that installed them. Maybe they are better now, But leaks were pretty common back then. Honestly I don't love having a OEM one myself. If you park in a garage and you don't plan on keeping the truck long term, then what ever. If your truck lives outside then no way I would. Once they cut that hole, there ain't no going back if you do have problems. All that said, If you really like them though and the shop has a good reputation. Our opinions don't matter . I've seen them added with no problems a bunch of times. So it definitely can be done well.
