According to a July 15 report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 32,037 of the nearly 600,000 recalled vehicles—just 5 percent—have been remedied so far.

I've seen this 5% number referenced in a couple videos recently and found the source article and quote from NHTSA That's pretty low, but probably about as good as it'll get month to month as they have no real remedy unless the engine is replaced.

There's a video from the news station of a ZR2 owner discussing the issue.

I got my first letter saying no remedy yet. I took it in last week and they confirmed I have to get my second notice to come in for them to check it to see if my engine needs to be replaced or just give me the oil change and tell me I’m good. LOL

I was in yesterday again for tonneau cover. Mine wasn't "officially approved" by GM, but said they could do it anyways. The tech doing the pico tests was off, so have to go back again. I'll just wait until I get closer to the oil change on ZR2.

Oil analysis on wife's Tahoe suggests it might be coming apart. Gonna pull another oil sample soon on latest change and then trade it.

Also, there was a tech that came to speak to my SA. He told me the transmission valve bodies are a bigger shit show.

Listen to the nextgen drivetrains guy. He goes off on this horseshit. Rightfully so. I wish I never bought a new truck. I have had mine in the shop for a month for DPF issues. No problems at the moment, but I put a PPE transcooler and bypass valve on my truck and has dropped trans temps 70 degrees average. Also put a PPE oil pan on it, so I can drain all of my friggin oil, and not leave a quart of dirty oil constantly running through the engine.

Interesting. If my wife's Tahoe is really gonna grenade, I was thinking of trading for one with the 3.0L Duramax. Maybe I'm just trading issues.
