I called this months ago! I suspect they figured it out a long time ago, that's when changes were quietly implemented to newer motors. But they didn't cop to it until customer complaints to NHTSA.Found this. Not sure if it’s been posted already. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCLRPT-25V274-1598.PDF
Buy a Bluetooth dongle to connect to your OBD II port. Scan for codes occasionally and screenshot your code reader app when any codes come up. Save them for when you visit the dealer.Don’t think it’s been mentioned. Wouldn’t a DTC P0016 turn on the check engine light? Or could it come and go and stay in the history? Asking cause if you take it in and check engine light isn’t on you would know your just getting an oil change and new fill cap.
Totally fine with this. But I repeat again Mobil 1 better mix some non supercar 0w-40 EP. 13 bucks a qt is a little tax.
Yeah supercar is expensive. I did score some for $8.99 on sale at Napa though. Still expensive compared to the Pennzoil Plat I was using. However, if the below website can be used as accurate info if GM questions the oil, there are others that state Dexos R certified.Totally fine with this. Figured they would be doing this! Will be of some solace for folks with these suspect engines but I would always wonder when I went anywhere "is the engine going to lock up today"?Totally fine with this. Why wonder? It will or won’t. But almost anything can be that way. No way to live for sure.Figured they would be doing this! Will be of some solace for folks with these suspect engines but I would always wonder when I went anywhere "is the engine going to lock up today"?
