Does anyone have/use a code reader that plugs in the OBDII port? If so, what is it and do you like it? TIA

Amazon: Vgate vLinker MC+ Bluetooth OBD2

I've used this for years, so I'm sure there's something newer.

That along with a "car scanner" app on my phone I find it pretty much can do what I need when just reading data.

I have a plug in scanner that uses Torque app but it isn't compatible on my new android phone.
Would something like this scanner be easier to use than an app on your phone?

I need something to tell me whether or not I have a P0016 code.

You can go to most auto parts stores like Autozone and they will plug in a code reader for free.

They all do the same thing. I've seen $30 Bluetooth units and $3000 dealer units do the same. If you're reading codes, <$100 is good enough. If your diagnosing complex issues, then more $$$ is the better investment.

I use the OBD MX units with their app or Torque Pro app.

I disagree. A $30 reader will read codes. The $90+ units will do a TON more and have far more features and diagnostics. The Bluedriver and OBD MX are in a totally different class when it comes to "code reader" dongles. If you can afford this truck, you can afford a Bluedriver or OBD MX unit ;)

I'm not sure there was anything to disagree with <$100 will pull a P0016 code.

Anything can pull a code. But not all tell you what it means and how to fix it.
Don't you have the fucking Internet? It knows everything, it's just like farmers!

User: Internet what is code P0016 mean?

Internet: GM fucked your shit up and you need a new motor.

User: Grok, why does GM suck?

Grok: Cause they got a skirt running the joint, her name is Mary Bad Bearings Barra according to well know ZR2 Forum member known as @AXE, who grew up farming and does other shit too.
