Curious...7.3L Godzilla Motor???

the problem with the 7.3 godzilla is the lifter issue. Ford has not fixed it yet. If it weren't for that, i would still have one. I have had 2.
The SD is bigger, easier to lift, power is good, seats are way nicer...

I am in a ZR2 gas. we shall see how this goes

Reactions: AXE
100% AXE and my point really wasn't about the money or mpg. One day, I will get to an age where I'll want, or need, to keep it for 5 years or so. At this stage of my life, I will continue to try new things while my health and financial situation allows me to do so. I like that the 7.3L Godzilla is port injected versus DI. I like what I've heard and read about it. I also heard...maybe a rumor, that both the 7.3L and the GM L8T are due for some "revisions" for 2027. I also miss the exhaust sound of my ZR2 Corsa. I don't plan on getting rid of my HC until the 27's come out anyway...I'm just starting to "look" and get a feel for what's available. I have been offered $75K for my truck. It MSRP at $92K and my buddy who's the GM at my dealership sold it to me for just over $80K. So I drove it over a year and a half and lost $5K...not bad IMPO. My mods were light like tint, backup lights, ceramic coated and a few minor cosmetic things. The Banks gauges, dash cam and Uniden R8 are coming with me. The fact that I can get so much NOW makes me wonder if I should take it or wait...always like to hear how you guys want me to spend my money :)
That's a pretty normal depreciation on higher end diesel trucks. When I do the math on mine, the truck plus mods has always been low cost when I sold them, not including maintenence (which i do a lot myself) . Haven't ever really had any major mechanical issues, so no cost there.

My biggest maintenance costs were a water pump, lower ball joints, idler/pitman arms. Had 10 years on the original brake pads on one and my boy is going on year 13 on the original pads on my other.

Some emissions parts are warrantied by law for 10 years. So that hasn't cost me anything.

Looking around at F250's, I noticed that the '25 model year trucks are discounted by about $8k-$10k. That matters obviously because it takes the used resale down that far, too. All the manufacturers do this, but it seems like Ford does it the most. That can be because they make the most so they have the most left over, or maybe just the general market condition right now.

My local Chevy dealer claims he can't get HD's fast enough, but has a lot full of the 1/2 tons. If that's the case everywhere, it explains your great trade value.

I'm like you in that I trade every 2-3 years. Resale is why I always loved Toyota Tundras...Until now. They can't seem to get their act together with that new motor. Sad situation.

Toyota is a DISASTER!

Not a fan of the color but it sure does look like a beast. Not really a fan of Fords front ends either lol. Let us know how it goes.
I'm not either...want another black truck but it will give me an idea on driving one.

Here's one for $110k no clearance lights or bedliner, may as well go big!
