Customization options for ZR2 Bison puddle lights.

I just got my ZR2 puddle light
Going to install them tomorrow,
I only have a couple of questions
Do the new puddle light have a polarity protocol ?
Do the new lamps have a CanBus resistor to keep BCM computer from throwing any error codes ?
Thanks
Bernard
Just plug them in straight as they sit in the socket, this is a simple +/- connection and the lights wires should go straight into the connector without crossover. Mine have been in for about a year and no codes, not sure this is an intelligent circuit like tail lights which are tied into the trailering logic, I don't think they have a Canbus resistor and I don't think they would need one.

Thank you for a quick reply .
My ZR2 puddle lights are not the conventional plug in stakes , they are small cables exiting the light fixture with male stake on connectors .
Here what they look like in the box

The conventional light fixtures have no small cables . See pic

That’s why i was asking about polarity
If it’s even a issue to cross the connections

Yes, they did change the design from fixed pins to cables and pins, that was done to relieve stress because the replacements are taller into the opening and there isn't much of any slack on the truck harness side, so that makes for less stress on everything, it is a good upgrade. I do not know for sure if there is a polarity to these lights or not, but I would simply attach the pins straight to the connector when it is in the orientation that the original lights attached to it without any crossover. I do know that that is how they were designed to be connected/installed. Mine are the original design with the fixed posts and the new ones are easier on everything due to the flexibility of the cables compared to those fixed pins. Last but not least, you may have to apply some upward and outward pressure on the spring clip to get it seated into the socket, I used the little screwdriver supplied to push up VERY CAREFULLY so it doesn't slip, but I also know they made a small change in the mold design to have it fit easier more like the originals do, but I have not seen any feedback on that design change and if it made things a little easier.

Your reply is greatly appreciated snd thank you for the detailed explanation and justification behind the new design. It makes total sense and im glad i purchased these fixtures .
I can see why people link into this forum , the users are knowledgeable,, respectful and helpful.

You're welcome my friend, good luck with your install, and if you have any issues or questions I am here to help. The inventor is a friend of mine (a brother really) and he stands behind his products like no one else I have ever seen, so if my extensive history with this product can help you with any issues, I am glad to do it.

Just so you are aware, the original lights in our trucks fit fairly loosely, they have no graphic image so no need for them to be tight and if they move some it isn't an issue. These puddle lights on the other hand have a sharp graphic to display and it is important that they be held tightly in place so the image doesn't rotate or jiggle due to any vibrations. For this reason, once the nub on the back side away from the spring clip is tucked up into the socket and the spring clip is pushed into place, if it doesn't just click in just apply some upward pressure and it will help it to fully seat and click into the correct location and orientation. If you run into any issues please reach out so you can get some guidance before you break something by accident, but I think my insights may help you to get it done on the first attempt. Once installed and the clear lens is rotated to the position you like, they will stay solidly in place and look fantastic. I think this is one of the least expensive and easiest upgrades you can do to these trucks, it gives a real custom look at night when you unlock or lock your truck. Good luck! I'm standing by to help if needed. 🫡
