I'd like one of those 6.6 aluminum block engines they are working onHaving the extra warranty is nice, but if this thing is in the shop for months at a time every 6 months, is it really worth it? I've been a GM guy all my life, but this is really making me second guess that decision. I'm waiting for the 2027 ZR2 to come out - hope this garbage engine makes it until then..
Nope but that doesnt mean I cant drop it in after the truck is paid forAre they planning to put the L8P in the 2026 2500HD?
i got rid of mine at 20k miles after the engine blew and then the new engine with not even 1000k miles on it and the valves starting ticking, said hell with it i have been in 6.2 litres my whole life, my boat even has one, traded it in and went to a 3500 gmc hd denali with the 6.6 gas motor, i only drive my trucks on weekends because i have a company truck, i would never get a 6.2 again after leaving me on the side of the road. I never felt comfortable driving that truck with the new motor, thats why i got rid of itI dropped off the Bison today to get its engine check. I finally got my letter saying bring it in. I’ve got 7800 in the year I’ve had it, put on the Range AFM/DFM two weeks owning it. No issues so far, and probably will only get the upgraded oil, oil cap, and insert. lol i did get to drive a BRAND NEW MALIBU while they are checking it out! Lmao
I had a ‘19 TB with the 5.3, and it had worse issues than I’ve had so far with the 6.2. IDK hopefully it worksi got rid of mine at 20k miles after the engine blew and then the new engine with not even 1000k miles on it and the valves starting ticking, said hell with it i have been in 6.2 litres my whole life, my boat even has one, traded it in and went to a 3500 gmc hd denali with the 6.6 gas motor, i only drive my trucks on weekends because i have a company truck, i would never get a 6.2 again after leaving me on the side of the road. Did you pull the range module so they dont fry the ECU when they reprogram it for the recall?I dropped off the Bison today to get its engine check. I finally got my letter saying bring it in. Unfortunately, yes. That was the main reason why once upon a time it was a simply DIY project just for the peace of mind that you were getting what you paid for.Even at dealerships?
I went 1/2 on inserts.....LOLI never got any kind of insert for my manual. Dammit. I got screwed! LOL!!!
