Lines in rear view mirror display screen

About two weeks ago, I had black lines appear in my rear view "mirror" display screen in my truck. It looks like I'm looking through a three strand barb wire fence. I took it to the dealer and the SA said they are just going to replace everything, camera, display screen etc. WTF happened to actually diagnosing the problem???

Anyone else have this issue?

Honestly, these components are cheap and mass produced. Labor rates are high and China has made everything disposable. Less costly to replace multiple components and not have you come back for the same issue. Every decision they make is about cost.
