Newbie

Hello all,
My name is Chris and I’m new to the site. I picked up a 2025 1500 ZR2 with the 3.0 Duramax a week and a half ago. So far, I absolutely love the truck. I have added Amp Research Vision series boards and a Lomax tonneau cover.
Next up, I purchased a Kicker powered sub kit 51PTRTP12 (non GM variant) and Kicker KeyLOC that are ready to be installed. I installed the GM Kicker sub in my 2 previous trucks but am unsure if I should splice into the front speakers for this new setup…hoping I can find some information on this site about this.

Here’s a couple I snapped quickly this morning.

You can get the high level speaker inputs by splicing into the output wires from the Bose amp to the factory sub. The Bise amp is on the back wall of the cab behind the rear seat. You have to take the rear seat out to get to the amp. This post and pictures shows the wires under the passenger seat, but the same 2 wires, blue w/gray stripe(positive) and green w/black stripe(negative), can be accessed at the amp behind the rear seat.

I have had two ZR2s, both with the Kicker sub. My 2022 I connected it as per the instruction provided from Kicker/GM. I used the method above for connecting the sub to the Bose sub channel in my 2024. This connection method by far offers much better sound.

Yep. I think that was your post that I took a screenshot of. I took your advice and hooked up my sub using the sub channel from the Bose amp, except I did it under the rear seat instead of under the passenger seat. Sounds pretty good.
