Hi All,

I've been trying to search google and threads on here, but have yet to get a definitive number on the stock HD ZR2 wheel offset and wonder if anyone knows for sure?

Also, what kind of clearance is there between the stock tires and control arms and the fenders?

Essentially I'm trying to understand how much clearance all around the tires up front so I know what wheel offset and tire size to get to have more than enough clearance to run chains up front. I'm still shocked mfr's make all modern trucks with not enough clearance to run chains up front.

I've been running a '25 1500 Trail Boss 3.0 which I love in so many ways, but my horses and mules are just too big (half drafts) that it's time to jump back into a 3/4 ton. On the TB I simply had to get wheels that pushed the tire out about 1.2" and stick with the stock tire diameter, which allowed chains up front at full lock without any contact. On mountain forest roads with snow, ice and some off-camber sections, the chains were amazing for safe, peace of mind driving during hunting season, so it's worth the investment for me.

Aside from the control arm clearance (solved by offset), with stock tires is there enough clearance around the tire to clear the body/fender well for chains, especially if pushed tire out 1.25"?

My truck will arrive in about 3 months, so I'd like to line this up beforehand, to be ready for fall hunting season.

Thanks!

Steve
