I've done previous vehicles with simpler HUD system glass. I used a Pilkington Brand, which was supposedly the supplier for GM. It was about $400 and I had a local guy who was independent installer do the work. The big name installers suck and charge more. Safelite does more damage than they correct...... morons.Has anyone had to replace their front glass that has the HUD option? Im guessing it will be expensive...
100% agree...much better options than SafeliteRun from Safelite, they horrible service and incompetent techs. They broke my kid's glass that had a tiny chip in it. I've had 20 chips like that fixed in the past. He said he seen the guy lean on it and could see his handprint over the chip. Fucking crooks......I went down there and chewed their asses up and down. Their corporate goons offered me a $50 discount. They can fuck right off, cause I paid my guy $400 to do it right. They are owned by a foreign corporation now too.

You need to be sure the glass company uses the correct glass for HUD or it will not work properly. The price of the windshield will depend on whether the windshield also has LDW camera. If it does, you'll be looking at around $800 - $1,000 with installation and recalibration.Has anyone had to replace their front glass that has the HUD option? Im guessing it will be expensive...
What did you say tto them to get a GM OEM shield from them?Just had my windshield replaced by safelite, they used a HUD generic windshield. The HUD display is terrible, image is Skewed “ trapezoid like” . Now they just ordered a replacement for the replacement. A GM OEM is approved , so FYI. The 2026 ZR2 needs the OEM glass.
Odd, I had mine replaced by safelite back in November due to having USAA as well and it was not cost to me. Only thing I noticed is the HUD does appear to stretch out some if I move my head up and down. As far as that I were able to recalibrate everything, with the exception of the auto rain detection wiper blades. I think it that part quick working properly. I would assume I am way past the timeframe to request an OEM glass. The HUD is not working right with the genetic glass. Within 12 hours it was approved.
It is so bad, I had to turn off the HUD. I do have USAA, they are really good with claims.
***** also they could not calibrate the camera ******
Maybe 2026 models are difficult
