I noticed over the last couple weeks an exhaust smell in the cab and a little bit of a exhaust leak noise and come to find out my 6.2L has a broken manifold bolt on the front driver side manifold. Seems to me the best option if I'm going to tackle this project is to replace both manifolds...since this is the front bolt it sounds like the clamp style repair won't cut it.
Any one replace their manifolds? Any tips/tricks would be appreciated. I've done this before on my Tacoma and have access to a welder so removing the bolt isn't really my problem, but it's helpful to hear what other people have figured out in the process.
I'm also looking for recommendations on replacement parts, I'd like to keep things mostly stock but if there is an updated part that addresses the issue of these bolts breaking (I hear its very common) that would be ideal. The truck is a 2022 and 60k miles on it, id like to get more life out of the next ones.
