Bourbon Talk

Tonight’s pour. Don’t see this much as Buffalo Trace has all allocated juice. Pretty tasty stuff worth the $57 I paid for it. Cheers!

That packaging is worth $50. I'd fill that with some cedar wood chips and poke some holes in the top and set it on my desk. Any chick walks in she's pissing like an ol mare in heat right there!

I shook hands with my ol friend the Manhattan tonight. You can see my other friend Crown lurking in the background, as I made my semi annual pilgrimage to Costco today.

Watching some Gold Rush on Discovery! Gold is at $4200 and Silver $58 an ounce...... life is good!

Random Saturday purchase. Not bad at all, a bit steep at $89, but the Mrs likes it so it’s a winner 🤣🤣

Sweeter than most high rye I’ve had.

Not a big bourbon/American whiskey fan myself (greatly prefer scotches), but have found a couple that I really enjoy… Woodford Double Oaked and Elijah Craig Toasted Rye! I wouldn’t complain any day having to suffer those vs some of my favorite scotches (Glenlivet 15 or 18, Balvenie Double Wood, Macallan 12, …).

I haven’t yet pulled the trigger on that one, but I’m eager to. Interested to see how you like it. I found a new store yesterday that has the highest allocated selection I’ve ever seen at very reasonable prices.

Not a bad way to spend the day. I will be trying a manhattan soon. The problem is I pour the bourbon first and there’s nothing left in the glass by the time I’m ready to pour the other stuff. 🤣

That was the drink of choice when we were a proper society....LOL.

Two to one rye to vermouth ratio. I use 3 oz of rye 1.5 oz of vermouth. A dash of bitters (I use orange and aromatics). Mix over ice and stir/shake and strain into a chilled glass. You can garnish with a cherry, but its not necessary.

Love it. I have all but the vermouth. Will be buying that this week. Cheers Gents!

Arrived at work tonight and found this on my desk. I’ve got a good boss. 😁 I’ll have a pour or two this weekend.

I got a sampler pack of Old Forester for Christmas a few year back. It was all pretty good! That 95 proof should be spot on!

That bottle shape and label alone are 10/10! I feel like you could pull the cork out of that bottle with your teeth, take a good long swig, bite down on your leather belt and dig a 45 Colt bullet out of your left shoulder and saddle back up for a ride into town.

Tonight’s pour Pinhook Vertical Series Rye. Coming it at 111.2 proof tons of flavor, reasonable price 100% will keep in stock. Cheers All!
