Chevy Silverado ZR2 Topper/Camper Shell

No offense taken. I have never been a cap guy and will probably never love the look. I’m not crazy about it but I’m sure I’ll get used to it and grow into liking the look (hopefully). It’s definitely needed for what I do everyday so it is what it is. Just wanted to post it if others were looking into the SmartCap.
I'm just not a fan of the caps. But that Smart Cap is probably the best looking one out of all of them.

For those of you who have installed a topper/cap on your ZR2, does it block the CHMSL, bed camera and light mounted at the top of the cab? Or is there a work-around for those? I really haven't used the bed camera and light, but I'd rather not render those items moot.
Thought I replied to this but can't find it- the New gen RSI caps have an extra window above the main cab window that allows you to see out using the factory rear view mirror camera.
It's not full view, but it's decent

Not on mine. I’m actually considering doing a trailer camera but power it from inside the bed and mounting it to the rear glass from the inside.

Should of mentioned - I think it's a new addition on the latest gen RSI caps. Mine has it.
My bad

Interesting. Do you have a picture of what you’re talking about? I can see just a tiny bit with the rear view camera so not sure if mine is the new gen or not. Does yours have a three piece roof?

Not on me,
But here's the video from RSI. Skip to 1:20

I do have a 3 piece - to get full rear view your may need to tweak the settings on the mirror.

I don’t think I have the latest cap which is weird because I just ordered it two weeks ago. I definitely have the updated roof rails and it looks like I have the bigger front portal glass for the camera and bed lights to work but no matter what settings I go through on the camera, it just looks like a reflection of the camera and I can’t really see into the bed. The one thing that pisses me off a little bit is the locks are all different on the updated model. It looks like they went from horizontal to vertical and put a rubber cap over the lock which would help since I live in winter wonderland.

Is your roof 3 piece? From memory that's the easiest way to distinguish between new and old.
But I'm pretty sure if you have the portal for the bed lights.
Is there a chance your cap may be too close or far from the cab?
Is your rear hatch/ door glass or covered?

The latch stuff is a pita
One of the reasons I went with the RSI sport was to ensure I got the updated latches- I live at 5500 ft near mountains, so I know your winter wonderland comment well lol.
Good news is I think you can upgrade any cap to the most modern locks with the rubber key cover cap.

I have a 3 piece roof so it’s the updated version. I think the cap might be a little tight to the cab so I can move it back a little and see if that helps. My rear hatch is glass.

I just spoke to off-road alliance where I ordered the cap and they said RSI is actually having issues with the new latches so they went back to the old style until they straighten it out hopefully later this year. I’m told they can be retrofitted so that’s good. I had one of these caps on my Ram TRX and struggled with the latches all the time. I’m about the same elevation as you are and get about 140” of snow a year. Working latches are a requirement!
