I got 45k for mine with 35k miles on it and a wreck on the carfax.Next weekend i might go in and see what they will give me for my 22 zr2 with 22k miles on it and a brand new engine on a new 6.6 gasser 2500.
There's no other better option, just other options. For what? Only thing I'd look at instead of the ZR2 is a Raptor. Heard they have tons of issues also.
That's what I did. I traded my 22 ZR2 with 20k miles on it a couple of years ago for a 24 2500 ZR2 Gasser. Been very happy with the gas HD. MPG is worse of course. Bigger, heavier truck on factory 35s vs 33s on the 1500. But if you do the math regular vs premium. Actual fuel cost is pretty even. HDs also come with a 36gallon tank Vs the 1500s 24 so you don't lose range either.Next weekend i might go in and see what they will give me for my 22 zr2 with 22k miles on it and a brand new engine on a new 6.6 gasser 2500.
I'm not a Dodge fan at all, But no flack from me. If I wanted a 1/2 ton. I'd personally look pretty hard at a Dodge Rebel, lol. Wouldn't trust a 6.2 and now they are saying the 3.0s are having problemsEverything has issues today. However, with that being said, and I'm sure I'll get flack for this and that's ok, I would be looking at 2026 RAM if I only needed a 1500. If you are ok with stepping up to a 2500, you should look at the 6.6L gasser. Yes, the 2500s, along with the 1500s, are known to have valve body issues but that's an easy fix...the motors in the 2500s (both 6.6L DMAX and 6.6L gasser) are pretty bullet proof.
Agree with this statement for sure. I’m on 34s but gas seems to be a wash. Not as fast as the 6.2l but maybe I need to slow down a little lolThat's what I did. Wasnt comparing with other 1500's was comparing to the 6.6L. Supposedly, the ZR2 1500 is 5.4 secs 0-60 where the 2500 is 7 flat. Huge difference in throw you in your seat. Not complaining about my 2500 by any means though. I love it and love it just has a plain engine. The 6.2 ZR2 isn't fast either really. It's slower then most other 1/2 tons. Especially the other off road trims. RHO is something like 540HP, lol. But yeah the HD is definitely less sporty than the 1500. Bigger and Heavier. 6.6 is a Long stroke iron block. Definitely more of a work engine then sport. Mine feels good though. The down low pep around town is great. The top end is a bit meh.
Fast hasn't ever really excited me unless it's got two wheels and an element of death!I am definitely it expecting fast. If I wanted that, I’d still have my 2013 Camaro SS.
I have owned six Camaros in my day. Starting with my first ride that was a 1979. I have always loved muscle cars. However, a few years back, I punched it one too many times and got accused of racing. Granted the same trooper also said he heard an Acura that was near by and my car both rev engines...LOL I had LTHs and no mufflers since it had a J-Pipe system....he did NOT hear anyone elseFast hasn't ever really excited me unless it's got two wheels and an element of death!
Well, me and the wife had time to go see my nephew at The dealership he works at, this is where i bought my zr2 from, so he talked me into trading my 22 zr2 for a 26 gmc hd 3500 slt with all the bells and whistles, i drove the 3500 for a test drive with the 6.6 gasser, and it was much quieter than my zr2 and i think smoother as well, he is running some numbers and we are talking monday, one think for sure is, you wont win a race with this truck, like the 6.2.Next weekend i might go in and see what they will give me for my 22 zr2 with 22k miles on it and a brand new engine on a new 6.6 gasser 2500.
I have been pondering a 3500 for my next truck too. Virtually identical to a 2500 just different gross vehicle weightings and, I believe, 2 extra leaf springs and an additional cross member when things get "heavy". Many folks say the 3500 and the 2500 drive and feel the same. That may be my next adventure in 2028 when the 2500 refresh comes out. We'll see what else GM does to potentially piss me off like the elimination of CarPlay. The good news is that a CP/Android dongle will still provide it, just not a fully integrated approach. If GM doesn't dump the emissions crap on the DMAX, I may just get the gasser at that point.Well, me and the wife had time to go see my nephew at The dealership he works at, this is where i bought my zr2 from, so he talked me into trading my 22 zr2 for a 26 gmc hd 3500 slt with all the bells and whistles, i drove the 3500 for a test drive with the 6.6 gasser, and it was much quieter than my zr2 and i think smoother as well, he is running some numbers and we are talking monday, one think for sure is, you wont win a race with this truck, like the 6.2.
Didnt GM recently come out and say they would not get rid of CP/AA? That doesnt mean they wont piss you off in other ways though lol. Im loving the step up to the 2500 so far. The Rancho shocks seem a bit bouncy but that can be changed out later. Thinking about going with Bilstein 5100s.I have been pondering a 3500 for my next truck too. They will not eliminate it in existing vehicles until the refresh.Didnt GM recently come out and say they would not get rid of CP/AA? That doesnt mean they wont piss you off in other ways though lol. Glad I traded up now then. No CarPlay is a dealbreaker for me. GM has never been known for software. They will not eliminate it in existing vehicles until the refresh.
Like I said above, you can still buy a CarPlay dongle on Amazon and get CP...it just won't have the factory integration. I have used these dongles in the past and they do work pretty awesome. You can get one for under $50. AA too.Glad I traded up now then. No CarPlay is a dealbreaker for me. GM has never been known for software.
You'll need to add 12k lbs to that rig to make it work!Well, me and the wife had time to go see my nephew at The dealership he works at, this is where i bought my zr2 from, so he talked me into trading my 22 zr2 for a 26 gmc hd 3500 slt with all the bells and whistles, i drove the 3500 for a test drive with the 6.6 gasser, and it was much quieter than my zr2 and i think smoother as well, he is running some numbers and we are talking monday, one think for sure is, you wont win a race with this truck, like the 6.2.
My truck works just great with a load of COSTCO groceriesYou'll need to add 12k lbs to that rig to make it work!
