Raining on my parade on my new unit Axe?? lol…Our company truck colour is white. If there was a white frost metallic in a HD ZR2 i would have went with that. If personal truck, I like the darker metallic blue.

My new truck going to be the nicest truck in the fleet IMO for the next year or 2. Another company guy in another office has another Silverado 1500 Trail Boss on order , should be in mid-May. I have his 2019 TB in my fleet at my office now..only has 150k, mint shape . It will be a good unit for our new post secondary graduate hire starting in May.

Just got to city late this afternoon, my wife has a surgery tomorrow am, but I did a drive by the dealership….seen my truck thru the fence. Black badges on, mudflaps installed….just sucks need to wait now for repair to door to be done.

I will stop in at the dealership tomorrow afternoon to see the truck in person. Excited to see it.

Finally had eyes on my truck…looks sharp. Mudflaps installed, box cover to be installed tomorrow am and undercoating Friday am.

Then the door damage repaired next week and get truck into get Xpel film, ceramic coating and driver / passenger front windows tinted a little. I am back in city for my wife’s medical follow-up appointment and bring truck home May 19…maybe pick it up May15 for the long weekend and do a road trip to Banff or Jasper to break-it-in!! Will post pictures when finally all work completed . Forgot to get picture of full backside with mudflaps…my bad…too busy talking to dealer.

Just put a sticker over that damage and run it. It's already well used. The first scratch is always the most painful.

More than a scratch and I didn’t do it , the truck carrier did it so why live with a damaged door on a $110K truck that you have not taken possession yet? Makes no sense to me. Doesn’t matter if it’s a new Chevy Equinox or a Silverado or C8 ZR1x Corvette, I wouldn’t accept the damage without being fixed or full replacement

I understand first scratch/ dent hurts .

I was just trying to end the drama. Thought it might help you sleep at night.

Tell them slow fuckers to take a door off a new white one that isn't fucked up. They are all the same. You're buying a used vehicle at new prices.

When I bought my 1500 ZR2 it had a "dent" in the door and they made a big deal about it. I assumed it was a delivery issue. I offered them less money and they took it. I got it home, pulled the dent and buffed it out and haven't thought about it since. I should have left it that way so it would compliment all the rock chips that are in the soft paint.

I know you want to believe you spent $110k on a premium truck, but GM and your dealer doesn't see it that way. They just see another sale on the books. Remember, the way you come into the deal is the way it goes!

Nice truck. I always have liked black trim with white trucks. I personally prefer some color but that looks good, too.

Quick question. If they are doing. The blackout package, what happens to the emblems that came on the truck from the factory?

I had the dealer out the badges that were removed in the back seat under storage bin..why give them to dealer…a person paid for the blackout emblems but I bet lots of people don’t think about it.

Well the time is finally getting closer… box cover installed and undercoating completed last Thursday/Friday, door panel repaired the other day, top mirror caps painted today, running boards installed next Monday. Then the truck is off to get the Xpel film protection, ceramic coated, some window tinting on Wednesday-Friday…..

I either will pick up the new unit next Friday afternoon, or leave it inside at the installer as it’s the long weekend and take the truck finally home Tuesday May 19!!

Did they re-skin that door or just bondo it up?

No new skin,. I have not seen the repair but they said the entire door was sanded down thru the clearcoat and sanded the area of the deep scratches , paint filled area of repair in layers, sanding each time and then blend paint in the surrounding area and re-clear coat entire door.

I told them if I am not happy with repair it will be fixed again. Guess I will know by next Friday.

That sounds like it mighy be ok with those additional steps.

My wife's previous Tahoe got backed into the rear passenger door. It was the white diamond tri coat. I told them I wanted it re-skinnned, as I didn't think they'd be able to blend that 3 part paint in a single spot middle of the door. They re-skinned it at the dealer body shop and the guy that mixed and shot the paint hit it perfectly. The entire door looked new and the seams on the inside were perfect as well. I was kind of surprised how perfectly it matched.
