It works be interesting if you could find other reports of contaminated fuel.
No doubt. I hope there are other reports so I know I'm not crazy, but I hope there aren't others because this sucks.

Just to update you guys (if you care LOL): My insurance is covering this 17k dollar complete fuel system replacement minus my deductible. It's looking like Murphy USA had def-contaminated diesel and according to TDLR AND Mt insurance company, this is more common than one thinks. In doing a search of worst places to get diesel/gas, Murphy USA was one of the top places to avoid. Not to shit talk a company, but this just should not happen. I ordered the locking gas caps for added insurance and I hope to have my truck back in a couple of weeks. Oh yeah, Murphy USA has yet to respond to the complaint I filed, so that's not confidence inspiring either. I guess the state can contact them on my behalf.

Wow that sucks, 17k for the fuel system for Def contamination is pretty crazy. I don't think I could ever be convinced that DEF and DPF systems are any greener big picture. They just generate more revenue.

Fuck Murphy USA and the contaminated DEF fuel they are pumping!

Tell your insurance company you'll save them $5k by deleting the emissions system. It'll be a better truck.

Contact Motor Ops and get the tunes and gear you need.

So they got the entire fuel system replaced and fired it up, test driven and ready to go, only to find an EGR system issue. Sounds like it's the EGR valve and they're on backorder with no restock in sight. The hits just keep on coming. Incredibly frustrating. Also doesn't look like there's an aftermarket EGR valve for these trucks yet.

Yeah no joke. I wouldn't know the first place to go to for that. Seems like I read a good bit of horror stories with that too, but I'm sure there's a few places that are professional at getting it done right.

I'm still pricing it out and waiting for the latest EPA dust to settle. There's some reputable shops selling tunes and delete kits. Really not hard to do it yourself, mostly bolt ons and simple programming with a laptop or OBD device. It's looking to be about $4k, but I had dreams of doing it for <$3k. The ral benefit is increased mileage and performance, but also much better reliability. But if you live in a commie state it'll be harder to do legally.

Absolutely, I'll let the dust settle too and try to find a one stop shop. I'm in Texas, so we're good to go when it comes to EPA. It's just ridiculous how restrictive and unreliable these systems are, but that's what happens when you have a bunch of Prius drivers telling you what you can and can't do.

Hopefully your running early next week!

Arizona is a decent place, but we got some commie shit too. Right now emissions testing is required after 5 years. Finally did away with emissions testing on motorcycles......lol.

I am an avid outdoorsman and I've spent 35 years developing energy infrastructure and we comply with mountains of regulations. I love the environment and respect that there is a balance to every parasitic human function, but modern diesel emissions systems are not environmentally friendly.......butbi like the side of my camper and boat to be clean from soot.
