Well, I’m stranded !! 570 miles on a 2026

Well dealership just called me back. It’s not the transmission. They say it’s a misfire on cylinder number eight. Is this the same shit that was going on with the recall with the in 6.2 and the 21 is through 24?

Somebody else reported this problem. It would be an easy fix if its electrical.

Day two and they still haven’t figured it out. Hopefully I can get a replacement with a 3.0 diesel. This is totally unacceptable for a truck I only had for less than a week. I’m not taking it back.
I'll give you $45k cash, no inspections!

So I just left dealership. It got heated. They still have no fix and have contacted GM engineers to get suggestions. Told me they are going to try a new injector and would have it completed by today if it was the cure. Well evidently it’s not. I asked to have it replaced and to just swap it out since it’s only got 500 miles. Sales manager worked out a purchase order agreement that had me taking a $9000 loss for “depreciation”! Basically saying I would need to finance same truck but with $9000 more on top. On top of that he tried to put LoJack ($1650), tint (2 windows $499), door edge film ($299), nitrogen ($199) and screen protecter ($199). I asked to speak with the general manager himself since the sales manager kept leaving and coming back like he was talking to him. He told me that the general manager wasn’t in and that he had been calling him. It got heated as we walked back to the service area and low and behold guess who came out of the bathroom? The missing general manager. Lied to on top of all the other shit I had to endure. I don’t know what to do. I filed a claim with GM and I’m sure you’re all aware that that’s like pissing in the wind. GM cares nothing about customers, quality control or anything other than DEI……

Think it's time to find a new dealership.

I went through something similar with my 2023 with the 6.2. Forget the miles but it was about 3500.
Had the "tick" at start up. Showed a misfire.
Ended up replacing lifters on one side.
Then catalytic converters
Then spark plugs
Then turn signal assy
Tried working with GM on a buy back. What a joke. Made me feel like I was the one at fault and the truck wasn't in the shop long enough lol
Bit the bullet since I love the truck and traded for a 2025 Bison. Not a single problem over 5000 miles.

How much negative equity did you have after doing that ?

I wrote a check for $20k and gave it to them. They took it lol
2 year newer truck and Bison edition and about $1700 in tax
Don't remember exact numbers but Bison edition was on sale for about $6800.
Chevy also had a $2000 rebate at the time.
Roughly $11,500 to get a 2 year newer truck
My local dealer went to Phoenix to pick it up, 8 hour round trip, and swapped my running boards and tonneau cover and put on window tint.

If you live somewhere with another dealer, even GMC, have them tow it and get a different team involved. It doesn't seem like they have very good diagnostic capabilities.

I mean how many things could it be if they ruled out the transmission and injector? It could be something as simple as a software glitch or a sensor. Maybe a bad ignition coil pack or spark plug wire causing the misfire. Tell them to start replacing bits until it works again if they can't do proper diagnostics.

This one is perfect

My dealer mostly quit doing loaners and use Uber and Lyft. I think the exception is long term repair and then its mostly rentals.
Also, I was informed today that GM concierge services is the one responsible for arranging Lyft rides only. You can no longer get an Uber. I had a really shitty Lyft driver the only time I've used them going to the dealer and I couldn't end the ride cause I didn't have any control of the app. Today I found this out when they sent another Lyft and I refused the ride after specifically asking for Uber (which they did about 1 month ago). I had to pay for my own Uber and it took 1.5 hours of fucking around to do a 15 minute ride. GM is so fucked up, you can't even get to the dealer to pick your shit up without intervention.

My 1st issue was the turn signal assy and chevy said they would pay for a rental but only up to $49 which was weird.
My dealer has a shuttle service so they just brought me home and picked me up.
When more problems arose my dealer has loaners.
It was to the point where I walked in and they just handed me the keys lol.

My dealer is the same way. If they don't have a loaner available, they rent a vehicle for me from Hertz.

Lemon law attorney. Look up the Lemon Law for your state and there should be Lemon Law attorneys(Google search)who get paid as part of the settlement. GM customer service is a joke and zero help. Went through this in Florida several years ago. I got my full purchase price plus any GM accessories I had purchased. I have read a few positive posts where the GM at the Dealer stepped up and did the right thing by replacing the low mileage vehicle with issues with a brand new vehicle. It can be done if the GM is willing. Good luck and I hope everything works out in your favor. Do not let those scumbags low ball you on trade or money out of your pocket or low trade assistance money. It’s always in their favor. I had a GM regional rep offer me like $2000 trade assist while low balling my new vehicle trade. I told her no way and she was the GM rep for the Lemon Law hearing which I won. She was pissed and boy did it feel good winning. Keep good notes and documentation.

If sales personnel is like that makes you wonder about the service department. I'm another vote, take it to another dealer. I would ask for a veteran mechanic that has mechanic skills to look at the truck.
