Welp, I Broke’d Today

Have one myself in the box in the bed of the truck. Kept it from when I had the 1500.

I’ve got a spare coming from TascaParts.com, with shipping and handling it was about $45.

Do the 6.6 diesels have to worry about this????
Yes. None of this is common. You either draw the GM short straw or you don't. If you want to hedge against the numerous problems these trucks have, you'd have to have a chase truck following you filled with parts and a mechanic.

Damn I have to hire a pit crew too. I knew this truck would be expensive, but not that expensive lol. Ok thanks for the info I'll see if I can find one that fits my truck. where is this module located at in the truck?

Last question. what reprograming does it need to have, I thought it was plug and play?

mine was under a shield next to the fuel tank on the underside of the bed, but I’ve got a 1500… i pulled the battery (-) cable for about 20-25 minutes while i changed the module and the truck picked it up just fine, no programming needed.

Above the spare mounted on a plate off the frame. Fairly easy swap, but you'll need to carry the tools as well. Like @landpilot says, you should kill the power, which means two negative battery cables on the diesel.

Thank you I just need to order it now. We Have the tools, We have the knowledge, we can rebuild him! lol, Sorry thats for us old people.
You're fucked like everyone else that bought a GM turd! But I'll support you just the same. Good luck with your tools and spare parts. Send me a bag of Jolly Ranchers!
