Many truck owners look for ways to give their vehicle a more aggressive and distinctive front-end appearance. Our Hood Deflector with 4 Amber Lights is designed to do just that.
For those who have ordered, here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started.
Check out the final result:
The Installation Process:
- Without removing the adhesive liner, position each Hood Protector on the hood. Compare its alignment and fit to the vehicle's contours.
- If you'd prefer to test the electrical connection before the full installation, you can jump straight to Step 4 and come back to the beginning later.
Step 1: Unpack and Prepare
- Open the box and neatly arrange all components.
Step 2: Prepare the Surface
- Clean the installation area on the hood, and apply the adhesion promoter (Fig. 1).
Step 3: Install the Hood Protectors
- Press each Hood Protector into place while peeling away the tape's protective liner (Fig. 2).
Step 4: Disconnect Connector
- Open the front hood.
- Open the black electrical box cover as shown in the picture (Fig. 3).
- Unplug the red connector with number "10" (Fig. 4).
Step 5: Connect Wiring Harness
- Insert the vehicle's red connector (unplugged in Step 4) into the matching port on the Hood Protector's red wiring harness (Fig. 5).
- Plug the red wiring harness into the original vehicle’s socket (Fig. 6).
- Use the clip on the black harness to secure it to the vehicle’s screw and tighten (Fig. 7).
- Close the black cover securely.
Step 6: Route & Secure Wiring Harness
- Attach the double-sided tape to the back of the transparent wire clips.
- Remove the backing from the tape, and attach clips in position.
- Secure the wire harness into the clips (Fig. 8).
- Use zip ties to secure the wiring harness to the lifting pole (Fig. 9).
- Trim off excess zip tie ends.
Step 7: Test Effect
- Start the vehicle and verify all lights function properly.
Important Notes:
- Do not drive the vehicle within 24 hours after installation.
- Keep the installation area dry for 72 hours.
