6.2L Engine replacement

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster. I've been following the thread in the Talk forum more closely and just came across this one today. I brought my truck in on Saturday for service and was told that I'll be needing a new engine. SA has been vague on timeline or details but finally got me a loaner today.

Apologies if I missed it, but I was wondering if any forum members have had their engine replaced after the recall and what kind of timeline they were given? I know there were some members on the other thread in the Talk forum that passed the inspection but didn't see anyone on that or this forum who failed the inspection.
took 2 months for me to get mine back but that was before the recall kicked in (last July-August). dealers were hoarding the engines even then, though. my dealer had told me they found several engines in other dealership inventories but nobody would give them up because they had more trucks sitting on the lot that needed an engine than they had engines.

Thank you guys. I'll keep you posted on what my timeline looks like when I get an update. 12,400 miles on my 2024 with first oil changes at 1,500, 3,000 and 4,000 mile intervals FWIW.

I will give GM some credit for this pre-emptive warranty. At least your not flying down the road where safety is a concern and you're far from home.

I am currently doing their "oil consumption test" per the dealer's requirements when I told them how much oil I was burning. They said I should expect my number to come up soon in the pipeline, and when it does, they can then also charge GM to do a camera scope for shavings. Curious if they are required to give you a loaner, and also curious if said loaner will be a malibu that will do me no good.
