EPA Killing Obama Emission Regs

I’ll start listening to any government party when THEY abide by the same emission standards across the government/ military. Until then, it’s not even a debate to me…just do as we say, not necessarily as we do.
Right up there with all them private jets the rich and shameless fly around in polluting shit.

It's just looking like when I get my new truck at the end of the month/start of the month they are going to let us get rid of the DEF and all the BS. and Ill be stuck with it or have to pay to remove it after just paying to buy it.

I dont think the manufacturers will drop the emissions equipment until 2028 models. The 27s will be rolling out soon.

I do think they could change the software to eliminate the functions like auto start/stop and DFM and DEF fluid parameters, but removing the hardware will take more time.

It's about $5-6k to delete and I'm seeing mixed results on that process with the newest trucks.

Just a question - who's old enough to remember flying into LA or Denver in the late 70's / early 80's? Do you remember how all you could see flying into those cities was a gray/green "smudge" ahead of the aircraft? Now - you can actually see the cities if it is clear outside. How do you think that change occurred? It's not all "bullshit"...............
I actually just flew in to LA, Long Beach actually, the other day and while yes you can see the city now. At least the tops of the buildings anyway. There’s still a thick layer of smog. Don’t kid yourself.

This thread is starting to sound like a Landman episode........................ my point still stands regarding demonstrated improvements in air quality. I'll go so far as to say this - if you want to be a member of a society sometimes you have to acknowledge that something you may not personally agree with might be the right thing to do or be correct. ANYONE who thinks climate change isn't real and doesn't have impacts really is choosing to ignore reality and science. All the bluster and hero language won't change that. I'm out now.......

And if you think people don’t cherry pick data because they have an agenda, you’re just as delusional. Climate has changed in this planet since the beginning of time. If it was as serious as they want everyone to believe, the powers that be wouldn’t have all these private jets they use just to fly themselves around in.

I just saw an article about Lake Erie freezing over for the first time in 30 years. I've heard a couple retired Meteorologists say that if you want a career in weather, you have to go along with it. They believe global warming is mostly BS. I see, say a hot or cold record being broken and it is 80-100 years old? I think it's all the weather repeating itself. That's my opinion anyway.

That's never going away, mostly because it's caused by coastal climate and temperature inversions. You can see it in many major metropolitan areas in the western US, especially in the winter. The dense cold air pushes down and compresses the air in the lowest part of the atmosphere. This concentrates the particulate matter and moisture held in suspense, thereby making it more visible. While there may be other gases and pollutants present, they are not visible.

You can see it prevailing in Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, San Diego, LA, etc. etc. All dry and arid with the sky filled with dust particles.

Climate has always been cyclical! It changes slowly and is capable of swinging one way or the other for any given period of time. Geologic records have shown this to be the case for millions of years.

Humans are the largest group of parasites on Earth. We consume more natural resources than any other species and do it for a relatively long life span. Our environmental footprint continues to expand.

Look at the push to build out the AI network so they can spy on us. This will require gigabytes of new generation, thousands of miles of new power transmission lines, thousands of acres of substations and construction access roads. Massive amount of water and raw materials will consumed to lower your quality of life.......but who cares, you'll get a robot to do your laundry.

We will continue to be giant parasites until Bill Gates, Big Ag, and Big Pharma have successfully poisoned the world with their phony mnra vaccines disturbed through ourv food and medical supplies.........good luck to everyone!

Axe,
I agree! Denver air has cleaned up a lot since 1970. But, if there is no wind the inversion shows up like you mentioned. Denver is in a three sided bowl. the lower elevations being to the north. Where I live in NOCO, the elevation is 4890 FASL. Cheyenne is a little over 6000 FASL. That occurs in about 50 miles. So a south wind blows that nasty crap up this way, along the foothills. With that being said and as you mentioned, how much of that is dust? i have no idea, LOL.

By the way, I just read that John Deere lost the right to repair case in court! Good, 4.2 million dollars. Where do these fools think we are going to get food if they destroy farming? There are plenty of other brands available to purchase.

I see the brown cloud everywhere in the Southwest. It's in the remote valleys where there is virtually no people in Arizona and California. However, there's a lot of farming and mining and that means dust in the air held down by cold air above. When it rains, the first 0.10 inch of rain is dirt......LOL.

It’s the same reason you can go in the garage, shut the door, and start the car on a 2026 vehicle. It will take quite a while before you die. No try that with a 1974 Oldsmobile. You’ll be dead in minutes. The cars today are clean. We need to stop chasing that fraction of a percent to make them cleaner. It’s having the opposite effect. Start stop, afm, dem, def, all diminishing returns leading to reliability issues. More pollution not less (where are all these used batteries going to go) with the mining of these minerals. LA also got cleaned up by industry regulations. Same with rivers and lakes. That was common sense stuff. Start stop on a automobile is just dumb.

Very true, depending on the vehicle. My 2026 gasser puts out just as much nasty shit as a 1980 5.7l lol.
