Latest GM OTA update failed and truck won’t start

Service advisor just told me they fried my ecu doing the ecm update for the recall. "Trying to find another ecu". We'll see if they blame the Range DFM module cause I left it in. They've never said anything in the past and I always have shit on my rigs.

Got in my 2500HD to run some errands and the infotainment system said "update ready to install"......no fucking way I'm rolling the dice on that now........what a shit show.........LMFAO,
This is gold...wonder how they tried to do the update(Mdi/usb or OTA). Luckily mine didn't fry and they could just reflash...but still a roadside assistance tow and a loaner truck for a week while I was away from town.

I'm double posting this, but it might be relevant even though this update was probably through the OBD II port, not the OTA.

They had another ECU and pulled the range DFM module and did the reprogramming. I'll be picking it up in the morning.

They did say the range DFM module contributed to the bricked ECU. But said they would warranty the part. I've always had a good relationship with the dealer and SA, so I suspect they went to bat for me here and I appreciate that.

Range says to remove it for any any OTA or OBD II updates, so proceed with caution. I recently did an OTA without issue, I think it was the first one I've had on my 1500. Dealer has done a few others.

I have left my 2500HD sitting for weeks/months at a time
I just fired it up yesterday for the first time in three weeks.. Always started no problem. There's no way I'm plugging in a trickle charger........LOL. If they are flat dead, it's because there was some type of computer activity or or it never shut down properly. The system should always go to sleep in a reasonable time after the ignition is turned off or doors closed/locked.
If I remember correctly, the truck completely shuts down (all modules) after 8 hours of no activity.
