What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

Not often it snows in FL, much less two years in a row. Granted, last year we broke the state record with 10" and this year was just a tiny bit. But not many put snow and FL in the same sentence lol.
Is everyone buying Tyre chains?

I was visiting Houston one year when the temp dropped to 32 and the city shut down all the roads 😆

No. The first measurement was the original height and the second is after turning up the torsion bars.
Common sense!
bro, not really common sense. most stock ZR2 HD trucks are at 42.5" front. mine included.
that's not even your truck. kick rocks

This reminds me of the tyme I was eating grapes and my friend looked and me and said " You know what brotatochips?? You've really changed"

That really shocked me so I looked up at my buttler (whom was feeding me the grapes) and asked him if he thought I changed.

He said No.

Hey, what mount is that and how do you like it? Has it bonked you in the melon off-roading?
It's made by Spigen. They make phone and tablet cases. I've had a few of them. I really like the SL mount. I had a different one and returned it because it hung down to far and was a pain to remove the SL. The mini is super easy to take in and out. I've had the mount up there for a month and it hasn't budged. The suction cups are sticky. So not a great option if you want to take the mount off and on. But it definitely won't just let go randomly with temp swings like normal suction cups do. I just leave the mount up there and remove the SL. The shade will close with the SL removed NP. It actually came in clutch big time last week. I'm a Verizon customer and my phone went out when they had that big outage last week. I was at work and mobile all day. I 100% ran off my SL all day lol. I would have been SOL with out it because my phone was a brick without the Mini. FYI it will lose signal while your getting fuel though. Going under overpasses, ect seemed fine. Park under a metal canopy at a gas station and it drops out. Not a big surprise, but I didn't think about it and my phone dropped out while getting fuel. Took me a second to just look up and have a well duh moment :ROFLMAO: Spigen Starlink Mini mount

That’s cool man, thank you for that info. Like the idea of it staying up there without the SL and closing the shade. I’ll give it a go! I like the idea of zombies not taking out my comms, SL will save me at least for a bit 😂

Lets not forget the random "mysterious" Telecom outages like Verizon had recently.

Manuals for these trucks say not to use tire chains. It was a large print warning in mine. But you have changed the suspension and tire size so it's possible you could still use them without damaging any components. I purchased snow socks and the are rated better than chains especially on ice but only for travel under 30 miles an hour

Replaced the modules for the Boost Auto Lumasteps. Now the running lights are amber. Love it so much better.

Installed the new puddle lights I received from @Mixander Xi for the December 2025 ZR2 of the month. Also received a ZR2 leather keychain.
Big shout out to @Mixander Xi!!!

I had a close friend get stuck in El Paso Texas. He called me up and asked for a ride so I drove 13 hours to get there and slept for about 3 hours and then turn around and drove another 15 hours back (little slower and more stops on the way back). Did an oil change before leaving Las Vegas and I'm about to do another one in the next week. Changed to Mobil 1 0w40 super car. It was actually a little cheaper than the Pennzoil Platinum. It's 11.99 a quart at AutoZone So I ordered the six pack off of Amazon and got it for less than $10 a quart.

Also had to put a new light bar on the front side of my overland rack. New kid at the local car wash I use did not retract the top two roller brushes and tore off my old one. Bought a slightly longer/brighter one and I'm extremely happy with the brightness. The old one was only a two row and the new one is a three row with spots in between the rows. Did away with the switches by the four-wheel drive control knobs so my wife doesn't kill the battery anymore. Everything is run through my Auxbeam switch panel now. Much happier with the setup now. The new light bar came in really handy for the trip to El Paso. Really puts a lot more light down range.

I did some more research on the Mobil 1 0W40 supercar vs FS and found their is very little difference in the formulation and not much difference unless your running high heat and rpms like you would on a track. It sells for about $5-6 quart at Walmart.

I do run high RPMs a lot of times when I'm out on the trail or just getting it around town/freeways.
That's a pretty big price difference though!

I think specifically it has about 200 ppm more calcium, which is primarily used for detergent and anti corrosive. I think some of the track guys still say it loses enough of its viscosity after tracking them to change it again after hard running. That's why a lot of them run race oils from boutique companies.

I used the FS on my wife's rig before the recall was done and did a short cycle analysis that seemed same as before. Was about to do another post recall analysis and see if tells me anything, but not sure I can confirm if the dealer used Supercar anyway. Not really expecting much difference at 3000 miles.
