Infotainment Audio Cuts In & Out 23 ZR2

Just bought a new to me 2023 Silverado ZR2 and the stereo cuts out for a second also. Does this 3-4 times in first few minutes then fine. During the test drive the stereo was never on so didn't catch this. They did a module update at the dealer before I bought it under a recall, but very frustrating to have such a new truck with this problem. Have had the truck about a month now and will need to bring it in. Glad I am not the only one, but crazy they can't figure this out.
It will never go away 😥

After the latest recall, mine actually did go away for several months. I was going to post here soon to see if it had happened to anyone else BUT the cut out has returned. Not as frequent but it is definitely noticeable.

I was thinking it might be tied to the OnStar service operation in the background, so waiting for that to expire. Will then experiment with removing all phone links and see what happens. Will have it back to the dealer to see what they say.

As much fun as it would be to get a new 2025, lol, I could barely swing this one at a used price. Love the truck otherwise.

My '23 had the stereo cut out a couple times on start up
Brought it in and they did some sort of update and didn't fix it
Brought it in for the recall update and that didn't fix it
Bought a new 2025 and that fixed it
That's your solution lol
That does seem true. Totaled my 22 and bought a 2025 and have had no issues. Maybe the new truck heard what happened and decided it better act right😂

I doubt it has to do with on star.
I only had the 30 day trial and I did all the updates after that and still no luck

My Apple Car Play music cuts out occasionally, but it's done that on every vehicle I have owned. I'm assuming the problems you guys describe are decidedly different.
You know, I think you probably hit on exactly the issue. Third Party systems not completely controlled by GM. Think about the high amount of code written to make all of these apps work. Now make it work flawlessly over 10 different manufacturers. I'm surprised they work as well as they do.

My '25 doesn't do as described by many here, but it does have the occasional random cut-out and occasional song restart...But that has happened through 5 different trucks, 2 different brands of trucks, and 5 different iPhones....Now on my iPhone 16 and nothing has really changed. What DOES work better is Maps on iPhone/CarPlay, as compared to my 8yr free trial of Google in the truck. I don't plan on keeping it that long, but I'd never pay for that crappy service. The F'in map doesn't keep up with your driving.

Can you guys please check and see what rev your infotainment system is on, maybe the new ones are getting an updated version that we could also request, my current rev for comparison.

Thanks @185EZ, I appreciate it. Obviously you have the same rev as I do, and I have to admit that after it was flashed it didn't drop out at all for about 2 months, and even now it might glitch once in the first 5 minutes of operation if it glitches at all, which is much better than what it used to be. Either way this isn't a deal breaker for me, complex electronics will have complex software, it isn't the end of the world, but I was just curious if I still had the latest available. Thanks again buddy!

It has been a while but finally got my 23 ZR2 in for initial loss of sound from the entertainment system in the fist minute or two of startup. They updated with the latest stereo update from a few months ago and it actually made it worse. They contacted GM and received a service bulletin back indicating that they are aware of and looking into the issue with the release of service bulletin #PIT6406D on Nov 20, 2025 - Complete audio loss through a drive cycle or short cut outs in audio. The bulletin highlights multiple years of issue across numerous cars from Chevy and GM and hopefully will expedite a solution. At least there is progress.

Don't kid yourself. This issue has been ongoing since the 2022.5 model year and it will NEVER be fixed. As an EE, and I have stated before, I believe it to be a HARDWARE issue and not a simple software update or it would have been fixed years ago. Don't hold your breath and just get used to it as it will never go away.

I want to say I read a post somewhere saying it was the amp. I believe the individual had replaced the Bose amp and all speakers and never had the issue again.

I call BS! There were several that had the amp replaced and it was stated it was "good" for short while and started up again. It's not the amp.

I had this issue, along with randomly grayed our preset buttons. They supposedly "replaced the radio." Whatever that means. The issue is better, but it still happens from time to time. Turn on truck. No audio. Select another station, audio fixed.
