Well she blew up guys!

I had one Dodge pickup in my life. A 98 1500 SLT Laramie with the 5.9 Magnum V8. In 2 years of owning it, I went through 3 transmissions and 4 sets of front rotors. When I put the 3rd transmission in, the very next day I went to a Chevy dealer and traded it for a 2008 Chevy 1500 LT and never looked back. I'll never own another Dodge/Chrysler product again unless it's absolutely the last resort. Owned nothing but Chevy trucks ever since then.

I go take mine in next month. I have the 24 Bison. Only 7k miles so far. Got mine last December. I want the 2500 or baby max, just because of these issues. My wife doesn’t like how big the 2500 is. But trading the 6.2 for the baby max and new payments isn’t something fun.

The Babymax is also having it's share of issues and folks are saying to stay clear of the 3.0.

So I have to convince the old lady we need the big boy. Lol
I went that route after a 6.2 and then 3.0, both zr2. I would honestly buy the 3.0 again without hesitation. The HD provides much more towing capacity, no auto stop/start, and no cylinder deactivation which are certainly pluses. I’ve also had 10 HD duramaxes starting with the LLY so am familiar with their “issues” and go in eyes wide open.

But, they too have issues as previously stated. Having said that, go on any GM truck or SUV forum and scroll through…you will quickly see the volumes per option, and make your own choices accordingly.

I understand why people are doing it, but trading into a diff model plays right into GMs hands because they move more units. Thus, Bad Fleet Barra will get the bonus even with massive QC problems and recalls.

Yep. I see more and more complaints about them now too. 2500HD transmissions and other stuff too. There really isn't a safe Haven.

Absent my ongoing concerns about the safety of occupants, I've just decided you get what you get nowadays and have to sort it out along the way.

Sadly, just as @TexOffroader said, not sure the manufacturers will improve cause people just keep buying so there's no incentive.

Mine passed inspection at 21k, and I got another 11k with the new oil before it seized. Going on a month at the dealer and still no word from GM that they'll accept the warranty claim. They did get me a $44/day pos rental, so I'm guessing its going to.

This is why I ditched lol.
That's why I'm keeping mine, you'll never have a better truck with a 10 year motor warranty.

You only have 3 years on that shitty transmission in your 6.6L........same story different model........the GM grab bag......Mary From HR Barra about to collect her big year end bonus for keeping the grift alive selling dudes new "more reliable" trucks.....LMFAO.

Thought you were selling your 1500?

10 yr warranty for only that issue though. Rather just have a plain old motor. I understand the truck overall is t any more reliable. Nothing is these days. But I got to get the one I wanted in the first place lol.

He’s just teasing on selling his 1500. Look at his “truck of the month” winning picture. No way he’s selling.

Listed it for sale on here, but never did locally. I really don't want to sell it cause its so fun to drive. I don't make good use of two, but lately its come in handy when I had to haul 2X gear on a hunt and my boy needed something to drive when his Honda blew. Then my other boy visited for a week on vacation and needed a rig. They can't rent vehicles cause they are only 23.

My boy might buy it. But I think it's too expensive to operate and maintain when your young. He's also considering a Colorado Trailboss. Might trade it for one and then sell it to him.

Gotcha.

Life’s short might as well enjoy what we can while we are here or before the gov fucks us and takes it all away lol. I miss the get up of the 6.2l but I’m ok with being a bit slower. I’ve driven fast cars my whole life. Gotten in trouble with them too. Florida now has a super speeder law. I’m safe from that with this truck lol

Yeah. Thats why I might make deal with my boy on it. I sold my last 2500HD to my other boy for a good price. Basically if they drive them for 4 or 5 years, it won't cost em anything after they sell it, so long as they take care of it. Would just as soon see them get a good deal as the dealer.

Agreed. I have looked a couple of times at the truck I traded in for this one. I always want to know what deal I got in the end. So far it has gone from 51750 to 50k even. My deal is getting better all the time lol. From the looks of it, they stripped all the tint off of it too.
