Thats what she saidYou have any shots from the side?
They have just enough grease for the first 3500 miles. There are 9 zerks on the current system, used to be 11.So, I greased the front end today. Wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Some seemed to have very little in it for having less than 3500 miles. I could not however, grease the upper idler arm. It would just not take any grease at all. Everything came out around the zerk instead of going in. I would assume that would mean it was clogged. Guess its something else Ill need to get the dealer to look at.
I have a kobalt electric grease gun. I removed the splash guard so it wasn’t hard to get to the zerk. No matter how I held the hose, grease just would not go in it. All others were no problem. They have just enough grease for the first 3500 miles. There are 9 zerks on the current system, used to be 11.
I dont think that zerk is plugged, just hard to get squared up to. If you want to make it easier to connect to the upper idler arm, you may want to get this Lincoln grease gun accessory pack. I used the middle tool (standing in photo) to make it easy to reach that zerk. It basically allows you to slip it on straight up from the bottom vs coming in 90 degrees.
I use a Dewalt electric grease gun, which makes it easier. You can hold the hose squarely and just press the button to fill. It also has a long hose, so not fighting it in tight spaces.

Lift it up and take the pressure of the steering. Rotate steering wheel to different positions to see if see will take grease in a different position.I have a kobalt electric grease gun. Granted it wasn’t lifted completely it it was lifted a few inches so I could get under. Already tried turning the steering from one side to the other. Believe me, I tried everything I could think of. Really would like to stay out of there. Not sure how to replace a zerk. Never done it before.Lift it up and take the pressure of the steering. You can always replace the zerk, which might get interesting.in that location. I had to replace one on my tie rod ends cause it pulled out when I removed the hose.....not sure it was even threaded correctly, but the new one has survived a few greasings.
Or go to the dealer so they can wipe some grease on it and tell you it worked fine.
They just screw in and out with few threads. Some have bolt heads, at the base and some require a tool. If you can cleaning and take a picture it'll show you what it looks like.Granted it wasn’t lifted completely it it was lifted a few inches so I could get under. Copy that. Maybe I’ll just buy a 90 degree one and change it out. That one wasn’t completely flat at least. From the feel of it, it had some grease in it.They just screw in and out with few threads. I don't think I've ever looked closely at that fitting, but there are fittings that are pressed in and if thats the case, you would need to cut the fitting off and drill it out. Then tap threads and install a new one.Copy that. Maybe I’ll just buy a 90 degree one and change it out. That one wasn’t completely flat at least. From the feel of it, it had some grease in it.
