What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

Finally got PPE intercooler installed. Not much seat time yet. Noticed right away turbo spools way quicker. Once I get some seat time in I'll do a thread on some feedback. It definitely woke up this 3.0 up

After a brutal week at the ranch in far S/E NM and driving checking the fences after a rain (maybe 3/4 of an inch) ran into a soft spot that in hundreds of times going in this small stretch no issues ever but the soil is very different not caliche it just sank.

Long story short had to get someone out as no truck could even budge me. Got with our excavation guy and he had already sent everyone home and his closest equipment was 60 miles away. He did offer to call a friend who also had an excavation company, and they had this parked on a job only 4 miles from our south gate.

This got stuck for a short time going across the area but worked it out by using the blade to lift the wheels and pivot the center to move the wheels in a different direction.

Had a Warn 12k this installed yesterday on my ADD bumper. Also have a pull-pal https://www.pullpal.com/shop-winch-...Winch-Anchor-4x4-Off-Road-Recovery-p747690400 that is on the way. Have seen these in action and they do work very well.

Has been years since I have had to be pulled out but this one was pretty brutal. Also, so everyone will know (truck is at my dealer getting the trans case fluid changed and the axles changed (did tranny about 6 months ago and it did not get hot) as during trying to get out the DIC gave a message "4wd drive is disengaged". Turned off the truck and after 5 minutes started and it engaged but at that point, I was beyond hope so just stopped.

Had the transmission tech on the heavy line at Classic in Grapevine come out and explain that this is not uncommon as Ford, Ram and GM have the same "protections built" into the vehicle. While it is not really common at all, however if you are in a severe situation and it is almost always mud this can happen! He will look at the fluid but I and changing it all anyway just to make me feel better.

Just know that the 4wd system is also temperature sensitive.

Fun times!

I get the "4wd is disengaged" message regularly whilst snow wheeling deep snow in the 1500 too.

Also the front axle setup is quite weak. I busted my rear driveshaft on a trail last year and removed it to get off the trail in FWD. Going slight up hill on loose gravel/dirt the "safety protection" disengaged the front axle after 3 seconds of tire spin. I was locked front and back (you cant just lock the front) and had to winch to break over the humps.

This year at EJS I broke my rear diff and had to do the same thing. The FWD did better on the moab terrain but still couldn't stay engaged.

Chevy should use this new marketing slogan! If you buy a Chevrolet, we'll throw in a Ram to get home!

I finally got mine back from the collision center. They've accidently replaced the black horizontal grill trim pieces with charcoal, but I actually really like it. Its one of those subtle changes that most people will see but not register what's different. If anyone needs a body shop, and they are in your area, Calliber Collision is really, RRALLY good. Even their screw-ups look good. Some good came from the death of Bambi's mom 😁

Took a couple of hours this afternoon at work and installed my leveling kit while one of my buddies mounted and balanced tires on my Method wheels then he was even nice enough to do the alignment. Installed my eboards and gator roll up bed cover a few days ago.

Had the diffs and trans case oil changed. Good thing I did because the trans case was a little low and not even a wet seal. Great job at the factory when it was filled--not. 🙁
You waited 2 years too long to verify!
I'll bet the diff fluid was smoked too! That shit is only good for about 15-20k miles.
